Claire Higsby is the founder and leader of the Novas. She is a scholarly trans cow girl, obsessed with witchcraft and magic. She lives in Greenridge as Jodie's roommate. She is a Evocation Witch, allowing her to do strong magical attacks and buff her teammates.
She also works part time as a waitress at Higgledy Piggledy's, having a secret crush on restaurant owner Beverly.
Personality:
Claire has a very bombastic personality. She often does extreme things without consulting those around her, and acts as somewhat of a wildcard. She is very relentless and obsessive, willing to do anything to get what she wants. She can often cause trouble for those around her and does brash things without consulting others, like the construction of the Basement Dungeon. She is never found without her iconic hat.
In terms of social interactions, Claire is often sarcastic and playful around her friends, but is much more reserved and polite around strangers.
History:
Claire was born in the city of Brightport. Her early life was very difficult, having little to no friends and unsupportive parents. She didn't have much of a plan until after she graduated High School and moved to Greenridge, leading her to be behind others in several aspects. She tries to make up for this by pushing forward relentlessly and taking shortcuts to get what she needs, even if they are dangerous. This has caused several issues for the town before, such as her casting a Megaphone spell that was too loud on Lady Provence, and other magical experiments that bring chaos to Greenridge.
Relationships:
Melody:
Claire has been friends with Melody since she moved to Greenridge. They are not super close, with Claire commenting on how they do not hang out together or confide in each other often. Claire still appreciates Melody for sticking with her even when she messes up, and finds comfort as Melody is the only trans friend she has made.
Allison:
Claire has been friends with Allison since she moved to Greenridge, The rabbit being invited to her guild alongside Melody. The two get along well, despite Claire often getting Allison involved with her shenanigans, such as the Basement Dungeon.
Jodie:
Claire is Jodie's roommate. As they both moved to Greenridge from Brightport, they are good friends and room together. Claire and Jodie were the original founder of their guild, and therefore are the ones who run it. As request from Faith, Jodie also attempts to keep Claire's mischief in check and keep her safe.
Faith:
Claire and Faith have been friends since she moved to Greenridge, but Faith's position as Guardian has caused some amount of conflict between them. Claire's knack for trouble and chaos has created a lot of work for Faith, leading to her often having to clean up Claire's messes. Claire still appreciates Faith for helping her solve her problems, but can often feel like a burden.
Abilities:
Claire is an Evocation Witch, making her the most versatile magic user. She is effective at various offensive spells, but can also grant attack buffs to her friends. She does She gains Star Power from attacking or using offensive spells.
Skills:
Scorch (7 MP | Default Skill):
The most basic fire attack, does fire damage to one enemy with a chance of burn.
Blink (20% Star Power | Learned at LV3):
Makes Claire disappear for a single turn, making her completely invulnerable.
Frost (7 MP | Learned at LV4):
The most basic ice attack, does ice damage to one enemy with a chance of frozen.
Attack Boost (20% Star Power | Learned at LV5):
Boosts the physical attack power of an ally for 4 turns.
Magic Missile (40% Star Power, 22 MP | Learned at LV10):
A strong magical attack that hits all enemies. Uses both MP and Star Power
Multi-Scorch (20% Star Power, 22 MP | Learned at LV13):
A slightly more powerful fire attack, does fire damage to all enemies with a chance of burn.
Multi-Frost (20% Star Power, 22 MP| Learned at LV14):
A slightly more powerful ice attack, does ice damage to all enemies with a chance of frozen.
Inferno (40% Star Power, 26 MP | Learned at LV21):
Claire's most powerful fire attack, does substantial fire damage to one enemy with a chance of burn.
Avalanche (40% Star Power, 26 MP | Learned at LV22):
Claire's most powerful ice attack, does substantial ice damage to one enemy with a chance of frozen.

This move is unlocked after doing the quest Lunch Rush. Boosts all of Claire's stats by 15% for 5 turns. Builds Star Power.

Trivia
- Her dress resembles the colors of the trans flag. She states in some flavor text in her room that this was coincidental.
- Claire's last name, "Higsby" is taken from the character Mr. Higsby from the Mega Man Battle Network video game series.
- ponett mentions that the pink triangles on her hat point down because her spells make health go down.
- She resembles Twilight Sparkle from the game Super Lesbian Horse RPG.
- Claire is the only member of the novas who is not in an relationship at the start of the game.
- Claire Appears as number 10 in the TheGamer article of the "12 Best Lesbian Characters In Games".
- Claire has an unused skill in the database called "Naptime". The notes section states this was removed due to already being other ways to stun.
