Uncanny Valley

Uncanny Valley is a dark forest area north of the Amber Woods. It is a hot spot for magic, and considered one of the most dangerous areas on the Sapphire Islands due to all the strange monsters that inhabit the area. It is theorized a catastrophic event that happened a thousand years ago might be the cause for the valley's strange state.

Most of the area consists of forest, as well as a river made out of pure mana that cuts through the landscape and makes traversing impossible without first acquiring the Bloom spell. There is a safe haven in the valley, Noel's Sanctuary, which is built around the ruins of the first magic school on Reverie.

Trivia

• The area is named after the phenomena of the uncanny valley, a way to describe things being too close to realism without quite looking real and as such becoming unintentionally creepy. Some of the enemies in the area, most noticeably the Cerulean Armor, seems to also try and invoke this.
